Have you ever started your morning by getting ready to have a great, hopping in your car, getting almost to work, when all of a sudden you start to smell something not so pleasant only to discover that you’ve stepped in dog poop. UGH. This is what happened to me about a year ago. I was sitting at a red light, trying to figure out the smell. I lifted my right foot only to smear the smelly mess all over my jeans. Not the way I wanted to start my day.
As a city dweller, I think it is very important for dog owners to be considerate and pick up after their 4-legged friends. With the help of some friends, I created Poop flags and spent a spring day in 2009 distributing them around The Fan in Richmond.
Some places were clearly worse than others. But luckily the residents of this apartment complex can now walk through their front yard without having to worry about stepping in a dirty mess.
This little project even got the attention of RVA local news.
